Fire Security presents a selection of projects from July to December 2019.

FS Chairman Ole Tom Eidjord and President Leif Harald Tveitnes ended a long and hectic business week in USA with a walk in Central Park, New York.

Welcome to Fire Security’s newsletter.

We had an excellent last six months in 2019, including a couple of projects at the Norwegian offshore sector.

Work was done offshore in Brazil on some of SBM’s FPSOs, both in terms of cable life extension and fire protection.

We attended and received a very good response from the Naval Damage Control event in Portsmouth, where we hosted a paper titled “Enhancing resilience of cables in today’s digitalized and automated ships”. Read more in our blogpost.

We did a first fire protection project for a Navy ship when we did the Republic of Korea’s ROKS Yang Manchoon, which is a Destroyer Helicopter (DDH) class ship.

At our headquarter in Norway, we did lab testing proving that the FS 5 cools the cable, however little. This outcome was a breakthrough in proving something that we knew by theory but had not previously had good enough lab equipment to demonstrate.
